The leadership also recognized that to ensure skilling at scale, there has to be something more than the classroom and virtual training. The client wanted to harness the power of informal social learning through a digital platform for its network manpower as a part of the digital transformation.

Most of the learning occurs on the job. While structured processes and learning programs have their own benefits, creating open and collaborative knowledge-sharing platforms helps improve engagement and on-the-job performance. With this background, Innovantes created a video-based micro-learning platform driven by employees. Unlike traditional learning that limits & controls access to trainers, the platform was designed to make it easy for anyone to be a video creator. It allowed users to create videos to share information and to find an audience. The cloud-based user-friendly platform allowed the employees to share their creations as posts and hence foster a culture of collaborative learning. The moderation tools built in the platform allowed the administrators to remove or bar any content not suitable for business. The peers could engage on the posts and upvote or like. The digital solution was scaled up in record time to allow participation from over 3 continents and 10 countries where the client operated. The platform also allowed the management to acknowledge and reward the most unique skills and videos through digital certificates, thus promoting a healthy competitive spirit.

With the learning department donning the hat of a facilitator rather than author of the content, learning at scale became a possibility. This also enlarged the pool of training content at a relatively very low cost.
